Standl 20

The white Standl 20 coffee shop with black KAFFEELADEN lettering, chalkboard menus and Standl 20 posters on the wall, white framed windows and a canvas awning above flower stalls

Standl 20 is a coffee counter in the middle of Schwabing's Elisabethmarkt, a small cabin like stand among the market stalls, and it has been serving the neighborhood since May 2015. After a multi year rebuild of the market, it is back at its original position on the newly designed square, open from first thing in the morning.

The coffee is roasted by hand by Johannes Bayer, whose approach is clean and sweet rather than bitter, and the lineup changes with the seasons, so the only constant is the quality in the cup. Flat whites, filter coffee and espresso tonics are on the menu, with homemade pastries alongside, which makes it an easy spot for a proper coffee break in the middle of the market.
