Coffee Twins

The hanging Coffee Twins sign seen from inside the shop, with Isarvorstadt townhouses and blue sky behind it

Daniel and Jonas Fondaj are twin brothers who trained as pastry chefs with one goal in mind: opening a specialty coffee shop. On 3 March 2022 they did exactly that on Ehrengutstraße in Munich's Isarvorstadt, and the little corner has been serving the neighborhood ever since, with white stools out front and a hanging sign you can spot from down the street.

The beans come from JB Kaffee in Sulzemoos, with a Brazil and Ethiopia house blend in the grinder, a decaf and a fruitier alternative alongside, and a choice of filter coffees that the twins brew to order as V60 pour overs. Everything sweet and savory is made in house, including a spelt focaccia baked with flour from a nearby mill and local cheese, with a vegan tomato version too. Any coffee on the bar can also go home with you as whole beans.
