Café Pista Beaubien

Café Pista began in 2014 as a pedal powered mobile coffee cart, founded by Maxime at just 20 years old, and the Beaubien Est cafe opened in 2016 as its first permanent home. It grew into a Montreal specialty roaster that buys directly from farms and a few carefully chosen importers, returning to the same communities year after year so the bags on the shelf tell the story of the people behind them.

The corner space seats around forty under golden tin ceilings, with pale green walls, grey and white tiles, and big windows that flood the room with light. A pedal powered roaster sits on display as a nod to the founding idea, and the terrace out front is a favorite spot when the weather turns warm. Simple pastries, sandwiches, and bowls round out the espresso and filter menu.
