Spyhouse Coffee Northeast

The wooden beamed room at Spyhouse Coffee Northeast seen across the bar, with a white espresso machine, glass lamps and a chandelier

Spyhouse Coffee's Northeast cafe fills a restored turn of the century brick and timber warehouse in the arts district, the old Land O Nod mattress factory. It is also home to the company's original roaster, so the coffee poured at the bar is roasted by the same people who run the room.

Exposed brick, a great deal of reclaimed barn wood and tall south facing windows give it a lived in, intimate feel, with an antique drugstore sign and an old map of Minneapolis among the details. Oat, almond and soy milk cost nothing extra. Spyhouse is known for lighter roasts and microlots from named origins, so the bar menu is worth reading. Doors are open from seven in the morning until seven at night every day of the week.
