Spyhouse Coffee North Loop

The tall bright room at Spyhouse Coffee North Loop with a marble topped bar, brass globe lights and a wall of black framed windows

Spyhouse Coffee's North Loop cafe opened in August 2015 in a former bank on Washington Avenue North, and the original vault door is the one decorative flourish in an otherwise minimalist room. Windows fill the space with daylight, and the design nods to the neighborhood's art and design scene.

Long communal tables share the floor with smaller marble topped ones, and a white La Marzocco espresso machine sits on a marble counter. The menu runs from espresso drinks and pour overs to chai, matcha and baked goods. The signature Orion blend anchors the beans, with microlots rotating alongside it. Hours are shorter than at the other cafes, seven to four from Monday to Thursday and seven to five from Friday to Sunday.
