Northern Coffeeworks

Northern Coffeeworks was born from a bike shop and is now a micro roaster and cafe on South 28th Avenue in Longfellow, Minneapolis. The coffee is roasted in house on Thursdays and Fridays at a medium light profile tailored to each lot, aiming for a sweet, developed cup that shows where the beans come from, with sourcing built around sustainable farming and long relationships.

The bar pours espresso, pour overs, cold brew and seasonal drinks, including the North Woods, a cold brew with maple and oat milk, and the house blends carry Minnesota names such as Boundary Waters, Cabin Vibes and Evergreen. Pastries come from local bakers, and whole beans, brewing gear and merch are sold at the counter. It opens at seven every morning and closes at four.
