N1 Specialty Coffee

The N1 Specialty Coffee window with a La Marzocco machine and grinder, stacked cups and shelves lit in warm light

N1 describes itself as designed in Singapore and brewed in Milan, a small specialty coffee and tea shop on Via Bronzino in Citta Studi that has been open for about a year. The team fitted the bar around La Marzocco machines with one clear idea, a place in Milan where specialty coffee and specialty drinks become part of an everyday ritual. Alongside espresso drinks there is matcha and cold brewed tea, which gives the menu a lighter, more Asian leaning edge than the usual Milanese bar.

Outdoor benches on the street make a relaxed corner in warm weather, and the team invites customers to bring a laptop or a friend. A loyalty card rewards regulars, and N1 also takes its coffee and baked goods into offices for corporate events. It keeps weekday hours until four in the afternoon and a short Saturday morning, and it stays closed on Sunday and Monday.
