Miami · Coconut Grove
Emissary

Elias Hengst built the original Emissary in Washington DC over a decade ago, and this Coconut Grove room is its Miami evolution, a space the shop itself describes as blending a European cafe, a West Coast coffeehouse and the warmth of a Miami ventanita. The counter pours Counter Culture Coffee rather than a house roast, a deliberate choice to lean on an established North Carolina roaster's program.
The Iced Vanilla Maple Cortado is the drink most associated with the shop, and outdoor seating built to welcome dogs and strollers extends the room onto Mary Street. A robust wifi setup and a laptop friendly bar counter keep the space working for people settling in for a while alongside the quicker coffee crowd.
