Standing Room Coffee Fitzroy North

Standing Room's Fitzroy North cafe is the roaster's first full service site, a sunny corner across from Edinburgh Gardens and the local library, set in a light and airy former shop with whitewashed walls. Since 2013 the business has taken coffee to Melbourne's students, workers and visitors, roasting its beans locally and sourcing them through trusted importers with a focus on traceability and transparency.

Despite the name, there is room to sit, with benches around the edges, round tables inside and an outdoor area under umbrellas. Coffee is made with the house blend, which is also sold by the bag, and a full kitchen sits behind the espresso machine. The cafe opens early every day, from seven on weekdays and eight on weekends.
