Small Batch Roasting Co. has roasted coffee in North Melbourne since 2009, and its roastery and cellar door on Little Howard Street is open to the public as a neighbourhood coffee stop. The roaster works with a select group of origin countries, collaborating closely with producers on the principle that coffee should taste exceptional, have a positive social impact and support sustainable agriculture.

The offer goes beyond the cup. Freshly roasted beans and brewing gear are sold through its shop, a learning section walks home brewers through methods for making cafe quality coffee at home, and the cellar door adds pastries and grocery items to the coffee list. Staff are happy to help with choosing beans, and the doors are open Monday to Saturday.
