Omar and the Marvellous Coffee Bird

Omar and the Marvellous Coffee Bird has been roasting in Gardenvale since 2010, a corner cafe and roastery behind a weathered red brick wall painted with its bird logo, with sun umbrellas set out on the footpath. The name comes from a Dervish fable about the discovery of coffee, and the stated mission is to get people excited about a consistently delicious cup, wherever they drink it.

Coffee, breakfast and lunch are served from early morning, and the roastery ships blends and rotating single origins to homes around the country. Next door, a separate space runs home coffee training, covering both espresso and non pressurised brewing. Doors open at six on weekdays and seven on weekends.
