Market Lane Coffee

Fleur Studd and Jason Scheltus met working at Monmouth Coffee in London and brought that training home to Melbourne in 2009, building their first shop and roastery inside Prahran Market rather than on a normal street. A 5 kilogram Probat sits behind the counter roasting through the week, and the shop runs a public cupping most Tuesday mornings for anyone who wants to taste through the current lineup.
Jenni Bryant joined the business in 2010 and became a co owner in 2019, and Market Lane has since grown to nine shops across Melbourne while staying B Corp certified and carbon neutral. The Prahran counter keeps close ties to its market neighbors, building sandwiches and baguettes from produce sourced a few stalls over, with a mushroom burger that draws its own weekend queue.
