Monkee Koffee has been serving specialty coffee on Calle de Vallehermoso since 2014, one of the earlier names to bring the third wave approach to Chamberí. Each season brings a new coffee to take home, introduced with the farm, variety, altitude, process and cup score, such as a Colombian Caturra washed with a 30 hour anaerobic fermentation or a natural from East Java, so the menu reads like a tour of small producers.

The counter runs from espresso, flat white and batch brew to pour over, cold brew and a coffee tonic, with matcha, chai and hot chocolate for anyone skipping caffeine. It stays open until half past seven every day, with a 9:00 start on weekends and holidays.
