Mision Cafe

Reportedly home to the first La Marzocco Modbar installation in Spain (a sunken espresso station that keeps the machine below counter height and the barista at eye level with the customer), Mision Cafe pairs that showroom grade equipment with a white brick, post industrial minimal room near Conde Duque. The coffee itself comes from Hola Coffee rather than an in house roast, but the bakery program is entirely its own, with bread and pastries confirmed sold to take away.

It sits close enough to the Malasana/Universidad border that both neighborhoods claim it, which suits a shop more focused on design and craft than on being any one district's local spot. Dogs are welcome alongside visitors. The bakery case is the safer bet for taking something home.
