Lady Madrid Speciality Coffee

The glowing blue Lady Madrid sign hanging in the shop, with the words Roaster and Speciality Coffee below it

Lady Madrid is a roastery and cafe on Plaza de la República Dominicana in Chamartín, where the coffee sold over the counter is roasted in small batches in Madrid every week. The team selects beans for traceability and character, buying from small producers, and the bags on its site range across Ethiopia, Colombia, Brazil, Burundi and Panama, with SCA scores listed for several of them. The roasting happens under the same brand as the cafe, so the coffee in your cup and the bag you take home share a source.

The cafe opens early, at half past seven, and stays open until half past eight every day of the week, which works for a commuter espresso and a slow afternoon filter alike. There is outdoor seating on the plaza, and beans, subscriptions and wholesale all run from the same operation. A second Lady Madrid sits inside the Parque Sur shopping centre in Leganés, but Chamartín is the flagship.
