Casa Nica

Casa Nica is the biggest room yet from Nica Specialty Coffee, the Prosperidad roaster that Javier Pardo started in 2018 after writing his thesis on specialty coffee, with a friend, Miguel. It began in an eight square meter warehouse, grew into a coffee corner on Calle de Sánchez Pacheco, and now has this larger home on Calle de Suero de Quiñones, built as a house for the whole neighborhood.

The coffee is selected and roasted by hand in Madrid, with a focus on Nicaraguan origins that the founders know well, and the featured coffee rotates every month. Casa Nica also hosts tastings and neighborhood events, and sells Nica beans by the bag, whole or ground. The founders say they want good coffee to stay affordable and the welcome to stay warm, and they greet everyone who comes in.
