Kiwa Café

A row of cream and strawberry filled pastries dusted with powdered sugar on a tray at Kiwa Café

Kiwa Café CEO Gregory Trouillet and his Korean wife opened this Confluence cafe in 2020, built around a homesick craving for the Korean cafe culture he couldn't visit often enough in person. Kiwa means roof, and the room includes an indoor replica of traditional Korean roof tiles inside a bright, riverside space.

A two group UNIC espresso machine pulls shots built around pistachio, black sesame, and chestnut flavors with house made creams, while an exclusive Brazilian and Ethiopian blend developed with French roaster EXTRAIT anchors the coffee side. Bingsu, the shaved ice dessert Trouillet fell for on a trip to Seoul, took real trial and error to pair with coffee before EXTRAIT helped him land on the right balance of bitterness.
