Verve Coffee Roasters Melrose

Verve's Melrose Avenue cafe opened in September 2015 at the corner of Melrose and Almont, near the Troubadour, with interiors by Commune Design in a Californian bohemian style. A wraparound courtyard patio with orange chairs, patterned tile and climbing vines is the draw outside, and indoors an espresso bar sits on brass counters beside shelves of cups and ceramics.
The furniture was chosen to look worn in rather than formal, with leather backed chairs and green suede couches, so the room feels more like a home than a restaurant. Verve buys through equitable direct trade and invests in individual producers at origin, and the coffee range runs from sweet, balanced blends such as Streetlevel to light roasted single origins. It opens daily from seven in the morning to six in the evening.
