Canyon Coffee Echo Park

The sunlit Canyon Coffee Echo Park interior with open wooden shelves, a menu board and a glass pastry case on the counter

Canyon Coffee began in 2016 as neighborhood pop ups and a handful of friends, and its Echo Park cafe is tucked into Elysian Heights, a pale wooden room of open shelves, a pastry case and a long counter in warm light. The company specializes in certified organic and regenerative coffees, roasted by hand in Los Angeles at a dedicated facility, with every bag packed and folded by hand.

The menu runs from drip, espresso and cortados to a brown sugar latte, an espresso tonic and drinks on tap, including a matcha pistachio latte. Pastries come from the baker Sasha Piligian, toasts are served on spelt polenta from Bub and Grandma's, and sandwiches come on Bub's focaccia. It opens from seven to five Monday to Thursday and seven to six Friday to Sunday.
