Cafecito Organico

Angel Orozco founded Cafecito Organico in July 2004, motivated partly by political activism around organic agriculture in Guatemala, first operating as Coffee Cellar inside a MacArthur Park culinary incubator. In 2010 he partnered with longtime coffee professional Mitch Hale, building on momentum from Hollywood and Silver Lake farmers markets to open the brand's first storefronts.

The mission has stayed consistent since, direct relationships with small growers and family farms and a commitment to paying what the company calls a just price for a sustainable livelihood. A full vegan menu runs alongside the coffee program, and reservable outdoor seating extends the Silver Lake room onto the sidewalk for anyone who wants to catch up over a slow cup.
