The Barn

The Barn began in Berlin in 2010, when Ralf Rüller, who had worked as an actor in London, opened a small cafe on Auguststrasse, and it has since become one of Europe's best known specialty roasters. The Charlotte Street shop, opened in 2025, is its first in the UK. Inside are exposed brick walls, a large L shaped counter with stools at the brew bar, small tables along the side wall and by the window, and a couple of seats out front.
The Barn roasts its own single origin coffees in Berlin and rotates them through espresso and filter, with a pour over service and an espresso flight if you want to taste two or three coffees side by side. Origins on the bar have included Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Kenya and Rwanda. Bags of beans are on display near the counter to take home.
