Tampopo Coffee

Tampopo opened in January 2026 on Lower Richmond Road, started by Mike and Lideya, a married couple who first met in Ethiopia when one was a gap year volunteer and the other was translating English lessons. Lideya holds a Specialty Coffee Association diploma covering roasting, barista skills, sensory analysis and cupping, and it shows in a short, focused coffee list built around pour overs and slow brewing.

The house blend pairs Ethiopian and Brazilian coffees, with rotating single origins from Origin Coffee Lab. The back room is set up for group bookings and community gatherings, and traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremonies are planned, where green beans are washed, roasted over a stove, hand ground and brewed while guests chat. The couple plan to put profits towards social enterprise work with children in need.
