Sofu Coffee

Sofu Coffee is a small hand brew bar on Compton Street in Clerkenwell that puts Chinese roasters at the centre of its menu. Filter coffees are brewed by hand, usually from several varietals at a time, and the Yunnan region is the origin the shop recommends for a first cup if you have never tried coffee grown in China.

Beyond the filter there is a signature iced coffee, a small white and an espresso blended with green apple juice, plus earthy matcha from Zhejiang for anyone who prefers tea. Seats run in two rows along the walls, which keeps the room simple and the attention on what is in the cup. It opens weekdays from eight, and later at weekends.
