Simmos Coffee

A white cafe table by a window with a tray holding a glass of water and a small glass jug, a sugar pot, a slim vase with a sprig of flowers and a large art book, with a plant and books on the sill behind

Simmos Coffee was founded in 2024 by Xiaoye and Louis, who met over a shared love of coffee and travelled through Japan, China and Europe before bringing a mix of Asian and Scandinavian influences to Fish Island. The room is design led, with light wood against industrial metal, ideas borrowed from specialty coffee shops in Tokyo and Shanghai, and a big table for groups next to quieter seats for one.

The coffee list leans on guest roasters instead of a single house line, and the team names Scenery, Dak, Swerl, Taith, Module and Killbean among those it stocks, with a stated focus on quality over quantity. Bags and brewing gear are sold from the shop. It sits at the foot of a Hackney Wick building, and laptops are welcome though tables are limited.
