Saint Espresso Baker Street

The black front of a Saint Espresso machine with the name in white capitals and a row of black cups and saucers stacked along the top

Saint Espresso is an independent London roaster, and the Baker Street branch is one of its own cafes, a short step from the station on the road where Sherlock Holmes is said to have lived at number 221B. The coffee is roasted at the group's roastery in Hackney Wick and poured here as espresso and filter, so you are drinking the same beans the company sells from its flagship.

The branch is part of a small London group that also includes Angel, New Street, St Paul's and the Here East campus bar. Weekdays begin at seven and close at six, and weekends start later, at half past eight, which makes it an easy first stop on a Marylebone morning, whether you are commuting or sightseeing.
