Redemption Roasters opened its Dulwich Village shop in September 2021 as its first in South London, with a garden that makes it one of the more relaxed rooms in the group. The coffee is roasted by trainees in prison, sold under the Redemption name and served as espresso and filter, a good reason to take the long way through the village.

The company began in 2016 when the Ministry of Justice approached Max Dubiel and Ted Rosner about installing a working roastery inside a prison, and the first roaster was built at HMYOI Aylesbury to give young people in custody a trade for after release. The company describes itself as the world's first prison based coffee roaster, and in 2026 it received the King's Award for Enterprise for the model.
