Redemption Roasters Bloomsbury

The Lamb's Conduit Street shop, opened in 2017, is where Redemption Roasters first put its coffee in front of the public, a two floor room on one of Bloomsbury's best loved streets for independent shops. The coffee is roasted by trainees in prison and sold under the Redemption name, served as espresso and filter, with the training story printed on the bags.
Redemption began in 2016 when the Ministry of Justice approached Max Dubiel and Ted Rosner about installing a working roastery inside a prison, and the first roaster was built at HMYOI Aylesbury to give young people in custody a trade for after release. The company describes itself as the world's first prison based coffee roaster, and in 2026 it received the King's Award for Enterprise for the model.
