Profile

The cream Profile shopfront under a yellow brick terrace, with its fine lettered name, a peach painted open door onto shelves of goods, a large window with a flower vase and a pale wooden bench along the front

Profile is a small neighbourhood cafe on Highbury Park, easy to spot from its coral storefront and calm inside, with pale wood and soft neutral tones. The house espresso comes from La Cabra, and the whole bar is built around it, down to a reverse osmosis water system dedicated to serving that roaster, a first for London. It was also the first place in the city to pour La Cabra on both espresso and filter menus and sell it to take home.

A guest roaster takes over a second position on the menu each month, drawn from roasters across the UK and Europe. Orea brewers and ceramic servers give the filter bar a considered feel. There is a large window table, smaller wooden tables along one wall and a bench outside. It opens every day, early enough for a morning filter and closing in the mid afternoon.
