Nola Coffee

The glass frontage of Nola Coffee on Rye Lane with its large NOLA lettering, a warm light wood room inside and a passer by in motion

Nola is a slim, light wood coffee shop on Rye Lane, opened in 2020 by Anthony West and Josephine Vander Gucht, the duo behind the band Oh Wonder. They built it from the cafes they loved while touring, aiming for a calm, considered room in the middle of one of Peckham's busiest streets. The motto is coffee for everyone, and the bar delivers on it with a Mavam espresso machine and filter coffee brewed in a cupping style flask.

Beans come from small independent roasters and rotate through the seasons, with single origins on filter alongside the espresso. The room is minimal and inviting, with a few small tables along the wall and more seating at the back, plus ceramics and bags of coffee to take home. It suits a quiet solo cup or a catch up with a friend, a few minutes from Peckham Rye station.
