Mont58 Coffee

A courtyard corner at Mont58 with a long wooden table, yellow folding chairs and a potted plant against an old brick wall

Mont58 began in 2018 when Shai and Maya turned a love of coffee into a business, roasting on a tiny home machine and delivering by bike before moving up to a larger roastery in Ashford. The Kirkdale shop is their neighbourhood coffee hub, set in a protected period building on one of Sydenham's last original shop parades, with plenty of light and original features still in place.

It is a place to taste, drink and learn about coffee, with freshly roasted beans on the shelves for home brewing and room to sit with a laptop for a while. Mont58 became a certified B Corporation in 2024 and buys sustainably sourced beans, so the coffee on the bar comes with a clear ethical thread running from farm to cup.
