Lumberjack Cafe

Lumberjack is the cafe arm of the Lumberjack Project, a social enterprise that teaches young people woodworking, and much of the furniture and decor around you was made by its trainees. Its three Cs are coffee, craftsmanship and community, and the Camberwell room feels as rustic and handmade as that suggests. Local artists show work on the walls, and the garden at the back grows fresh produce.
Coffee is taken seriously at the bar, with a pour over station brewing V60 filters beside the usual espresso drinks. It is a good place for freelancers, with plenty of plug sockets, and the neighbourhood character makes it feel like a local meeting point. Doors open early on weekdays and a little later at the weekend, so it works as a morning stop or a mid afternoon rest.
