Long & Short

Jeremy and Ivan started Long & Short on Brick Lane before opening this Walthamstow shop in 2019, and it has since become their home base. They call it a coffee lab, and the name fits: a long, narrow shipping container at the foot of the Crate complex on St James Street, with a vintage espresso machine facing the room and a communal terrace out front.

The coffee is the whole point. Everything is roasted in house and sold only through the lab and their own website, with every lot scoring 87 points or higher and a top tier of limited editions scoring 90 or above. Expect experimental processing, single origin espresso and pour over, plus a frozen Vault of high end lots that has included Panama Geisha.
