Gecko Coffeehouse

Gecko Coffeehouse is a vibrant, fully plant based cafe on Bethnal Green Road where specialty coffee is the core of the menu. The house espresso is a rotating single origin bean roasted in house on an eco friendly Bellwether electric roaster, alongside coffees from other roasters around Europe that you can drink in or take home. The menu of bakery items and brunch dishes is made entirely from plant ingredients.

Downstairs is a warm, softly lit basement with woody tones, hanging plants and a Bali meets Shoreditch feel that makes it a firm favourite with people working on laptops. Plug sockets are plentiful and the wifi password is posted clearly. A few pavement seats sit out front, and an events programme runs on the side. It opens at nine and keeps going into the early evening on Thursday to Sunday.
