Day Trip

The Day Trip bar with a hand lettered banner, stacked cups on the espresso machine and a white brick room with glowing amber lamps

Day Trip opened in the summer of 2024 on the ground floor of a Halliford Street townhouse, a short walk from De Beauvoir Town. The idea is a slow start to the day: a huge slate counter fills most of the room, a long wooden bench runs beside it, and a leafy front garden with stone benches gives you somewhere to sit outside.

The focus is pour over. The filter menu rotates through coffees from Calico and has included rare lots such as a Panama Gesha, and the baristas pair each cup with a sample of matched water to calibrate your palate. Espresso is supplied by Elsewhere of Deptford. The shop shares its building with a wine bar called Goodbye Horses, which sits across the counter.
