Castiglione

The Castiglione counter, a faceted bronze bar topped with an espresso machine and two grinders in a cream paneled room with a lit ceiling grid

Castiglione takes its name from Via Castiglione in Italy, a street its founder Roberto remembers for long sunny days and good company. The idea behind the Whitcomb Street room, a few steps from Leicester Square, is to treat coffee as an experience as much as a drink, and the space is designed to keep evolving rather than sit still.

The coffee comes from Origin, the Cornish roaster the shop partners with, with a rotating cast of guest roasters alongside, and the bar is built around a Slayer Steam LP machine. A large video wall lets visitors shape the sound and visuals in the room, which also hosts listening sessions and creative events and can be hired for private gatherings.
