Blackfinger Coffee Roasters

The curved brick railway arch at Arch 345 with the pale yellow Blackfinger Coffee Roasters sign over a dark glazed front, an arched window above, the number 345 on the grey brick and a yellow door beside it

Blackfinger Coffee Roasters opened in June 2026 inside a railway arch on Camberwell Station Road. It is a queer-owned and worker run cooperative founded by James Dash, where a crew of locals share the decisions, down to pricing that is kept deliberately accessible for the neighbourhood. The arch is also the roastery, so the coffee at the counter is sourced and roasted a few steps from where you drink it, with a seasonal coffee menu and a growing focus on underrepresented origins and Southeast Asian coffees.

The café is meant as a third space, somewhere to slow down and meet neighbours rather than rush through. The house range runs from Colombian to Indonesian specialty coffees, all sold by the bag, and it changes with the seasons because the roastery buys coffees at the peak of their harvest. Takeaway works for a quick stop, but the arch is made for staying, with quieter hours set aside for working and busier ones for company.
