Batch Baby

Batch Baby fills the ground floor of the Rose Lipman Building, a community and creative hub on De Beauvoir Road near Haggerston. The name gives the game away: batch brew and hand brewed filter are the focus, poured from a rotating list of guest roasters that changes every month, with Sweven, Coborn, Swerl, Dayglow, Skylark and Three Marks among the names that have appeared on the bar.

The room is retro and colourful, with vintage leather chairs, a wooden counter, a candy apple red La Marzocco and a thriving plant collection, plus a sunny terrace outside. Bags from the guest roasters line the shelves for taking home, and the shop hosts cuppings and collaborations. The tagline on its website, dial in or die, sums up the attitude.
