The Folks Chiado

The Folks opened its very first counter here in Chiado in 2022, a warm corner on Rua dos Sapateiros where a sculpted silver ceiling glows against terracotta walls and a glass front lets the Baixa street light in. From this one room the group has grown to six cafés across Lisbon and has made the World's 100 Best Coffee Shops list two years running, ranked 88th in 2026.

The beans are roasted weekly in the group's own Lisbon roastery, chosen lot by lot from Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Kenya and Rwanda, and served as espresso, batch brew and filter on Victoria Arduino machines. Brunch comes from the open kitchen all day, laptops are welcome before noon, and bags of the same roast wait on the shelf to take home.
