Orioli Coffee & Lab.

The bright interior of Orioli seen through the glass door, with woven pendant lamps, tall steel framed windows, a counter with an espresso machine and customers at a table

Orioli is the Alcantara coffee shop of Felipe Orioli, an agronomist and Q Grader who has worked in specialty coffee production in Brazil since 2007. The shop sells Brazilian lots from the family farm in Chapada dos Veadeiros, Goias, where only about a quarter of the land is planted and the rest is left as preserved habitat, next to coffees from Ethiopia, Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador.

The Lab in the name is real. The team teaches SCA courses and workshops in Lisbon, from sensory skills and roasting to barista training, and beans are roasted in the shop behind glass. The room is minimalist and quiet, with weekday and Saturday hours that end in the late afternoon.
