Puku Puku Pardo y Aliaga

Puku Puku takes its name from the Quechua for the bird that sings at sunrise, and the San Isidro café on Avenida Pardo y Aliaga opens early enough to match, at 7 in the morning, then stays open late into the evening. It is a welcoming place with outdoor seating, free wifi and plenty of outlets, a regular spot for people on a morning break and for those settling in with a laptop. Puku Puku has grown into a Lima favourite, ranked among the World's 100 Best Coffee Shops in 2025 and again in 2026.

The idea behind it is simple: serve Peruvian coffee to Peruvians. The team buys microlots directly from farming communities between Amazonas and Puno at a fair, direct price, then roasts small batches at its own Tostaduría La Mar and delivers them fresh, bag by bag, to every café. Beans from the current roasts are on sale to take home, and the cafés give small local entrepreneurs space to grow alongside them.
