Ciclos Café opened on 1 July 2021 in a two level space on Jirón Colina in Barranco, founded by coffee taster Felipe Aliaga together with cacao specialist Amanda Jo Wildey, whose craft chocolate shop El Cacaotal shares the building. The name comes from the idea that everything in coffee moves in cycles, and the room was designed on purpose to be warm, textured and colourful rather than minimal. It was named Lima's best specialty coffee shop in 2022.

Felipe discovered specialty coffee in 2014, earned his Q Grader certification in 2019, and roasts everything himself on a 6 kilo Giesen roaster fitted with an electrostatic filter. The coffees come only from Peruvian producers, among them farms in Cajamarca, Chanchamayo and Cusco, with direct relationships and fair payment at the centre of the work. Water is filtered and calibrated daily for every cup, and bags of whole bean are sold with the producer's name, process and tasting notes on the label.
