Coffee Makers

Ludovic Fiers, who describes himself as the pianist who also roasts coffee beans, has run Coffee Makers on rue Pierre Mauroy since 2013, making it one of the longer standing specialty addresses in Lille. A certified organic roasting workshop built around a Diedrich machine installed in 2021 sits behind the espresso bar and tea room at the front of the shop. The space has grown into a full daytime spot with laptop friendly tables, wheelchair access throughout and a following well beyond the neighborhood.

Fiers roasts and sells his own beans in store and online, tuning a distinct profile for each origin to bring out its particular aromatics. The counter runs hot and cold coffee drinks, homemade pastries, granola and light lunch plates through the week, with a Saturday brunch that draws remote workers, students and families through the doors.
