Chido Café

Jamal, a Lille native who spent a decade in Mexico, opened Chido Café on rue d'Inkermann in October 2024 with his partner Anahi and roaster Carlos, all three coming out of a coffee cooperative the group built together in Mexico before bringing the model to France. The business runs as a SCIC, a French collective interest cooperative, and commits half of its sales revenue back to the eighty farming families in that Mexican cooperative, with a further share reinvested in helping producers convert to organic growing. A bright mural and small wooden tables fill the République quarter space, with the roasting machine set up in plain view at the back of the room.

Green beans arrive directly from the founders' cooperative and are roasted on site by Carlos, then pulled as espresso, cappuccino and latte or sold by the bag in 250g, 500g and 1kg sizes. The food side leans Mexican, with guacamole, nachos and avocado tartines alongside Latin American pastries, plus a rotating beer selection from a local brewery.
