Bohemian Kids Café

Bohemian Kids opened on Universitätsstraße in the middle of Leipzig, close enough to the university that its outdoor tables fill with students most of the week. Michael and Barbora, a Czech couple who left law school to run a cafe instead, pull espresso through a Dalla Corte Icon machine using beans from Prague roaster Candycane Coffee, so the cup here carries a distinctly Czech accent despite the German address.
Barbora bakes the cakes herself, blending Czech and Swedish traditions into banana bread, cheesecake and a rotating cabinet of other bakes, while the food menu leans vegan without making a show of it. The cafe takes no reservations and stays open every day of the week, mornings through early evening, with a walk in only policy that keeps the small tiled room turning over quickly.
