Kapow Coffee

The black Kapow Coffee shopfront in Thornton's Arcade, with bistro chairs outside and a chalkboard sign under hanging bunting

Kapow Coffee is a two floor coffee shop tucked into Thornton's Arcade, one of Leeds' Victorian shopping arcades, with a roastery behind it that works with rare and competition lots. Recent releases have run from Ethiopian naturals and Kenyan washed coffees to a Colombian gesha, all poured as filter and espresso and sold by the bag in the shop and online. The house coffee is a Brazil, with a Colombian decaf alongside.

The shop spreads over two floors, with seating outside in the arcade, and guest espresso roasts appear on the bar when something special arrives. It opens early on weekdays at half past seven and runs until six.
