Kurasu Kyoto Stand

A grey tiled corner building with a glass fronted counter and a Kurasu sign, a wooden bench and a slate board sign by the door

Kurasu Kyoto Stand opened in August 2016 as the company's first physical shop, about five minutes on foot from Kyoto Station. Kurasu began as an online seller of Japanese homeware and brewing gear, and the stand still stocks a wide range of Japanese made drippers and other brewing equipment, with staff happy to pull items from the back on request.

The coffee is roasted at the Kurasu Nishijin Roastery and served as filter coffee and espresso drinks. The baristas have trained overseas and talk through the coffees in English. Space is tight, with room for around nine people between counter seats and standing places.
