COYOTE the ordinary shop

A bright room at Coyote the Ordinary Shop with floor to ceiling windows onto a city street, wooden tables and round stools on a grey stone floor, a long window counter, potted plants and a dark slate wall with a turquoise glass band

COYOTE the ordinary shop opened in July 2021 on the ground floor of Campus Plaza Kyoto, about five minutes on foot from the central exit of Kyoto Station. The room is walled in glass and opens at 8:30, which suits a morning coffee near the station.

Owner Yusuke Kadokawa spent two years in El Salvador as a JICA volunteer on a coffee farm and now buys directly from growers, mainly in Chalatenango and the Alotepec Metapan region, then roasts the beans himself. The focus is Salvadoran coffee, especially Pacamara, offered in a range of processes and roasts, and the same roastery runs further shops in the city.
