Coffee Base Kanondo is a coffee stand on the third floor of the Miyako Building, two minutes on foot from Shijo and Karasuma stations. It describes itself as a hundred percent specialty coffee stand and has no seating of its own, so drinks are made to take away.

The beans are roasted in house and sold by weight from 100 grams, with the roast level adjustable on request, and the single origin shelf has included Uganda, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Brazil, East Timor, Colombia and Rwanda lots. The team includes a latte art champion as technical director and a barista certified as a SCAJ Coffee Meister, and a monthly subscription offers unlimited drinks at the stand.
