Yunshu Coffee

Coco Tan turned an old terrace house on Jalan Sepadu into Yunshu, a calm corner of Taman United between car workshops and neighbourhood grocers. A latte art champion who started as a part time barista in 2013, she opened the cafe in 2022 on the belief that specialty coffee has endless possibilities in brewing and in enjoyment, and the name says as much: yun for cloud, the many forms coffee can take, and shu for tree, the steady community that gathers beneath it.

The beans come from several Malaysian roasters, from Sabah highland lots to African and Latin American origins, and are served as espresso and filter with careful attention to the cup itself, since shape, material and rim size all change how a coffee drinks. Tables sit inside and out in a front yard shaded by trees, and home brewers can take bags of beans away.
