Kopi Kalyan Archive

Iman Kusumaputra and Putri Yulandari opened the first Kopi Kalyan in 2016 after years spent immersed in Melbourne coffee culture during university, then started roasting their own beans and building direct relationships with farmers across Indonesia. The Cikajang house now operates as Kopi Kalyan Archive, a three floor space with a ground level built around cold brew and upper levels for slower seated drinking, and it remains the flagship even as the brand has expanded to Tokyo and other Jakarta neighborhoods.

Espresso drinks like the coffee tonic sit alongside filter coffee and a rotating list of Indonesian single origins picked for rare processing methods and experimental micro lots rather than familiar blends. The kitchen fills out the menu with broccoli soup, croissants and a smoking area out back, keeping the place as much a work from cafe spot for South Jakarta regulars as a destination for the coffee itself.
